The Cyprus Pound is the currency in Cyprus, and has been used since 1879.
It is pegged to the euro at CYP 0.585274 ±15% per euro, which it is due to be replaced with the Euro by the Cypriot authorities as early as 2007. The currency entered the Exchange Rate Mechanism II in May, 2005.
